Hi, I’m Tina and I’m the chair of the board here at TEAM RISE. I’ve been involved with the project for a number of years now and I think it’s an amazing cause to be part of, and I am closely involved with the evening sessions where myself and my husband Pete volunteer. I think TEAM RISE is fantastic!
Hi, I’m Rick! I’m originally from Bolton, but now I live on the outskirts of Clitheroe. Before coming to TEAM RISE, I have volunteered my time with Age UK four years prior and also the police cadets. I work full time in sales, and I really enjoy what I do – dealing with people, from all walks of life. TEAM RISE gives me a great opportunity to continue meeting new people and to give something back to society.
One of my favourite things is bringing a smile to someone’s face, and there’s no shortage of smiles at TEAM RISE. A couple of my special interests are listening to music, and also travelling to new places. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends outside of work, and I enjoy coming to TEAM RISE on the Monday night sessions and helping out with the various activities.
I retired a few months ago after working for many years in a very stressful office atmosphere. My daughter Laura has been attending TEAMRISE for a number of years and has always enjoyed her time spent there. Having attended a number of fundraising events over the years it has been great to see how all the members love coming to TEAM RISE.
Now that I have retired, I thought it would be great to give something back to TEAM RISE. The minute I stepped through the door there was lots of smiles and hugs and made to feel so welcome. In such a short time I have met people I would never have done in my normal working life.
Sharon is a fantastic leader and cannot wait to see the progress of those who attend.
I’m married to Debra which makes me Sharon’s Brother-in-Law, how privileged am I!
Because of these links, I have been involved with TEAM RISE on a very casual basis, now I can devote more structured time. All of the guys at TEAM RISE brighten your day. I really enjoy participating, helping and taking part in all of the activities, which are vast and varied.
Lots of credit to Sharon for setting up Team Rise and all the wonderful things she does, I can see how hard she works, like a swan above the water, but with the feet under the water paddling like mad!
The staff and volunteers are vital to TEAM RISE, so I’m really happy to be joining the team and help out as much as I can.
I’ve come from a totally different world. I’ve recently finished my career after serving 35 years at the same business.
I was involved in the Footwear Industry and held various management roles. Stepping into TEAM RISE is totally different and brings completely different rewards. I love socialising, going for walks and trips with Debra and Luna (part of the Team Rise dog partnership with Evie) and I love watching Liverpool! I enjoy travelling, photography and cooking. I love being part of the team and help keep the fantastic work going at TEAM RISE!
Hi, I’m Debra!
I’m from Rawtenstall where I’ve lived all my life. TEAM RISE is an absolutely wonderful place to work, with no two days quite the same!
I love being involved with the Project, and seeing our members grow in confidence day by day; alongside doing some very fun and meaningful activities. One of the biggest highlights about my role is the welcome I receive when I walk in – it’s fabulous to see how happy everyone is to be here!
In my spare time, I love socialising, catching up with friends, getting out and about and meeting new people. I also love visiting different places with my lovely husband, Michael, and our gorgeous miniature schnauzer Luna.
Hi, I’m Sonya and I’m responsible for overseeing all aspects of fundraising here at TEAM RISE. Outside of my role, I enjoy spending time with family and friends – as well as going on walks with my two dogs, Ace & Teddy.
Hi I’m Sharon and I have the privilege of Managing the wonderful TEAM RISE Project. It is non-stop but I would not have it any other way, to see people grow in confidence and develop great friendships on a daily basis is fantastic and I cannot imagine ever doing anything else!
We have grown so much over the last few years and now I feel we are comfortable in our own space and getting the most out of everything we do. Finances will always be a worry, as we do not get any government funding, but with the love, support and friendship of others, we somehow manage, and I know we will do so for many more years to come.
